Two weeks in Heidelberg... Suggestions on what to do every afternoon?

Make sure you stop by the famous castle there. Its great. Also if you have time stop by the Military Guard post at the Headquarters building and thanks the boys and girls for being there. I use to be one of those guards. Its a really important job. Take a Rhine River cruise, thats was pretty cool.

I'm not German (Sorry:P) but I finished my Master's Degree in Heidelberg. Transportation in Germany is AWESOME. You can check out Heidelberg official website for more information http://www.cvb-heidelberg.de/index_eng.h... and this one is also very informative http://www.cvb-heidelberg.de/index_eng.h... .  There is a tourist information at the Main station and they are nice and speak English.

You can even travel by regional train to Mannheim and other cities.

I guess Marktplatz (sorry been back here for a few months, don't remember the correct spelling:P) is the center of Heidelberg, you can walk around there and check out the river, and other stuff. Just be ready for the walk :)

the castle, museums, heidelberg has a great "fussgaengerzone" (shopping area) which is filed with stores, cafe's and all kinds of other things. u can take a boat ride on the river, other cities in the area r mannheim, schwetzingen has a real nice "schwimmbad"(waterpark)

and yes, public transportation is awesome. streetcars and buses ride every 10 minutes and with the train u can go and c other cities. have fun and make sure u make the most of ur trip
