i take care of my almost three year old god daughter while her mother is at work during week days. i give a regular nap time everyday. a week ago she was taking her nap and she began to cry. it turned out she was still asleep. i asked her mother about this and apparently it happens quite often.

im sure that it is not night terrors. they are no where near as violent as those but i am still concerned to as the reason of these new occurrences. does anyone have any suggestions as to what might cause these little disturbances during her sleep? any help would be appreciated! thank you.

  1. It does sound like night terrors, they aren't always violent.  My youngest nephew has them, he just cries and sometimes walks around the house, like he's in a daze, but he's still asleep.

There isn't really anything you can do, they'll eventually stop. Usually they happen between ages 2-5 ish, but it's probably not unheard of them lasting longer.

  2. Mention it to the doctor at her next appointment.  It sounds like nightmares.  My daughter had them following her shots for a week or being frightened by a movie.  I am going to mention it at her next appointment too.  Just be there and comfort them it is the best thing.

  3. yes do go see a doctor    but i think also its just a nightmare  or she might doesnt need a nap  try to keep her awake or skip one nap...   just want to say  dont think the worst of it   try different ways  not every child baby is the same  and the so called rules.. saying that because your doctor can only subscribe medicine and you dont really want that    try different things  let your imagination go  and see what you come up with  good luck!

  4. take her to the doctor for a checkup. usually babies cry to get oxygen when they cant breathe so maybe she has lung problems. just take her to the doctor
