Unfortunately aggressive behavior is a completely normal part of development.  It usually starts at age 1 and can last until age 3.  If it is not properly dealt with this behavior can worsen and carry on for a long time.  The most important thing is to be sure to discipline evenly, appropriately, and consistently.  When the hitting occurs make a sharp correction and follow up with positive talk.  If you can't stop the destruction of things, you may have to put them up.  I always think this should be a last resort but to protect your items you may have to.  Good Luck.

  3. This is normal. Put expensive stuff out of reach. Say no and take her away from the situation when she hits. Then, I'd put her in timeout. One minute for each year old.
