Tyler Farrar to ride the London Olympics along with the Grand Tours and the classics
American professional cyclist Tyler Farrar has shown inclination to ride both the Grand Tours and the classics which will keep him much occupied throughout the year.
The cyclist has also shown interest to ride the coming Olympics. Despite his super busy season, Farrar could not miss it, owing to the fact that the mega event comes every four years. He is suiting up for the event starting in July.
Tyler participated during the Olympics test event last year but he failed to impress the US selectors and his exclusion from the start list amazed many.
The cyclist was truly disappointed about missing out on such a golden opportunity and he is ready to make the maximum out of the mega event this year.
Farrar explained, “I wasn’t even down for test event until I called them a few weeks before and said I hear there’s a test event, I’d really like to do it. It was actually a lot of fun. For a lot of those guys on the teams it was the biggest race they’d
ever done”.
He further added, “As a pro you become accustomed to riding big events and seeing it through their eyes was invigorating and I had a really good time there”.
The 2012 Olympic Games scheduled from July 28th to August 12th 2012, will mark the debut for the American rider.
He is eyeing the gold medal and is positive to take his performance to a new level in the coming season.
The 27-year-old believes that US has a great chance for the coming event and can build a challenging team.
The responsibility lies on the shoulders of the selectors to send the top most cyclists for the competition.
Farrar will start his 2012 campaign next week at the Tour of Qatar and will also participate in the classics during the year.
He is thrilled about the inclusion of three new main cyclists, as Alex Rasmussen, Robbie Hunter and Koldo Fernandez have joined the American team for the 2012 season.
Farrar is excited to ride with his old teammate Hunter. Both the cyclists had a tremendous partnership during the 2010 season before Hunter signed up with Team Euskaltel for the year 2011.
