Tyler Greene begins his new era with Houston Astros – MLB Update
Former St. Louis Cardinals’ Tyler Greene is ready to start his new beginning with the Houston Astros. Recently traded from his former team, Greene will get a fresh start with his new team in Houston.
Three-year Major League veteran, Greene was struggling to keep up the pace with the last year’s World Series winners and this lame playing approach cost him dearly as the Cardinals management decided to trade him to the Astros.
However, like many other experts and Greene himself, this trade has open new possibilities for him.
Though many experts and baseball pundits still calling this trade a bad deal regarding every aspect of Cardinals and as Greene’s game, but Greene on the other hand, thinks quite differently and telling the media that he will surely discover his game in the
Astros’ franchise and will start with a new enthusiasm.
Not only he expressed his new possible ways of getting a new start in Houston, but at the same time he stated loudly that the Cardinals were the team where he discovered the true spirit of the game and he will always see this organization as a first learning
step towards professional life.
"It's kind of bittersweet, I came up through this organization and lived and breathed with these guys for a long time. It's sad in the sense that these guys are my friends and family. We've all grown up together --the coaching staff and everything," said
Greene.
He added, "I've been nothing but thankful and grateful to the organization for giving me the opportunity and to have faith in me and stay confident with me through the years. But I'm also excited. I'm excited for a fresh start and a new opportunity."
In one way trade, the Cardinals have not revealed that in Greene’s exchange who will be coming into their franchise. There is also a possibility that the Cardinals will receive potential player or cash, but at the same time, no source has confirmed this
possibility.
Greene, who was struggling with his performance in the Cardinals, now gets a fine chance to prove his game. No doubt he is a talented player and with good fielding skills, but at the same time could not impress the Cardinals management with his performance.
This season, he is hitting with .218 along with four homers, 19 RBIs and .272 OBP but looking at his three-year career and the level of performances he has given in all those past years, surely sends this message that Greene has not improvised his hidden
skills.
In the meanwhile, his career hitting of .218 along with total nine homers, 47 RBIs and .295 still suggests that the upcoming years will see him growing as a fine player.
