Tyler McGill pockets Men’s 100m butterfly gold – 2013 Arena Grand Prix
Tyler McGill of New York Athletics pocketed gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on day one of the 2013 Arena Grand Prix in Colorado, USA, on Thursday, February 14.
The 25-year-old McGill devastated hopes of his opponents in the 100m discipline and rushed his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With his commendable pace, he remained comfortably ahead of his challenger and touched the wall for the title.
He stayed in a prominent lead over his challengers and made his way to the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 53.38 seconds.
The champion was followed by Ryan Lochte of Daytona Beach Swimming, who was 1.02 seconds slower from him and occupied silver medal of the race by touching the wall with an effort of 54.40 seconds.
Lochte was traced by Santo Condorelli of Bolles School Sharks, who was 0.22 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall for bronze medal by producing an effort of 54.62 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Peng Wu of Club Wolverine-M, who stayed only 0.01 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for fourth place by reporting a time of 54.63 seconds.
Wu was trailed by Zack Chetrat of Swim ON, who was only 0.36 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing wall for fifth place by submitting a time of 54.99 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was obtained by Adam Brown of Unattached-SE, who was 0.06 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with an effort of 55.05 seconds.
Seventh spot of the race was obtained by Joseph Schooling of Bolles School Sharks, who was 0.15 seconds slower from his former finisher and clocked a time of 55.20 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Bryce Bohman of Unattached-WV, who suffered a loss of 0.43 seconds from Schooling and ended his swim in eighth place by posting an effort of 55.63 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
