Tynwald Tom to continue by winning the Betfred Fot Gold Champions Day Standard Trophy at Nottingham
Nottingham will become home for the Betfred Fot Gold Champions Day Standard Trophy over 500 metres flat on Monday, 14th May. Taking part in the £200 event tonight are Tynwald Tom, Borna Dealer, Jordan Light, Firecracker Jack, Freds Champ and Romeo
Patriot.
The most promising candidate for the race is Tynwald Tom, Head Bound’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Very Pretty. The only thing that the two-year-old has accomplished after penetrating into the new season is winning. He has not missed a single chance
ever since the new season shot off.
Tynwald Tom started off with getting drilled over 382 yards at Shelbourne Park on 18th February. He completed the task in 19.10 seconds.
On 13th April he bagged the very first success of the season at Nottingham by completing the 305 metres trip in 18.22 seconds at Nottingham. He led the runner up of the race, Flutters Phanter, by 3 ¾ lengths.
His very next start of the season also culminated into a win. He took 30.37 seconds to time the 500 metres race at Nottingham on 21st April. He took charge of the final 2 ¼ lengths and made Boozed Effect settle as the runner up.
He then achieved the rare honour of bagging a seasonal hat trick through the very first three races of the season. Tynwald Tom won a 500 metres race at Nottingham on 27th April by reaching the other end of the wire in 30.23 seconds. The runner
up of the race, Unusual Girl, was left adrift by a staggering 11 ¼ lengths.
In order to ensure that the quality of performance stayed intact, the trainer, T. Munslow, drilled the two-year-old over 305 metres at Nottingham on 4th May. He timed the distance in 18.14 seconds.
His unprecedented success continued as he posted a straight fourth win of the season on 7th May in the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Standard Trophy at Nottingham over 500 metres. The evening’s favourite, Tynwald Tom, was done racing in 30.03 seconds
and he led the runner up, Slick Salamanca, by eight lengths.
Fifth win through the fifth outing of the season sounds too good to be true but then an entry like Tynwald Tom hardly disappoints.
