  1. well, i have type one and as long as i check my blood sugar and make sure to take insulin i'm fine.

as for type two, you can't really just eat whatever you want as long as you account for it. you have to excersice and limit what you eat. they both kinda suck but type two is probably harder to control. hope that helped : )

  2. Type 2 is no picnic, but if you eat right and exercise it is usually pretty uneventful.  Type 1 is considered to be the worse type, since we make no insulin, can go into a coma from being either too low within minutes and from being too high within hours, we have to inject insulin several times a day (or wear a pump) and make constant adjustments if we see patterns get out of whack.  Some Type 2's think we have it made because we take insulin and can eat whatever we want within moderation, but that's not much comfort.  Our highs are higher, our lows are lower, and our BG's fluctuate much more dramatically throughout the day because we have no natural insulin response to deal with everyday stressors like our Type 2 friends do.

One thing we Type 1's have in our favor is that because of the severity of our disease, we have to monitor our BG's several times a day, thereby giving us the opportunity to correct or adjust things.  Type 2's often cruise along with high BG's because they feel OK and they only test a few times a week at best.  Type 1's also usually see endocrinologists rather than general practice docs or internists, and endos are infinitely more knowledgeable about the disease.

  3. actually they are both bad. ( i would know i have both) i have to go sorry if i didn't help. You know got to be tested

  4. Neither is worse than the other. They both have their challenges. Neither is more dangerous than the other as far as long term health is concerned.

They are actually 2 very different diseases and must be treated as such. It is like having angina as compared to carotid artery disease. two very separate diseases but with the same name Heart Disease!

Life is tough, the tougher you are the better you will survive it!!!

  5. Both are pretty bad I guess but no illness or disease is good.

Both types have to watch what they eat and keep an eye on themselves.

Personally, Im Type 1 and I think its alot harder and probably more dangerous because we do injections and if that goes pear-shaped, you could get permanantly damaged or could even die.

Blood tests are very important also.

    Hope Ive helped (:
