Type of ID accepted in clubs in London?

So I am going to be london for the next few month and am wondering what type of ID do clubs in London usually accept. I know that most of the time its a driver's license or passport but I don't want to carry my passport around and would they take a driver license from california? thanks for the help!

If you dont want to carry around your passport you could just photocopy it and they would definetely accept this. In some clubs they scan it though so an actual card such as a drivers license is useful.

ID card or driver's license is good enough. Your driver's license should have your picture on it though and must be the age required by the club to enter. However over here in EU they are not as strict in checking Identification like the USA. If you look very young or act immature they may ask you, other than tha its no strict control like in the USA where they check everyone. Have fun in London

Tip: while in london visit other EU cities with booming nightlife such as Amsterdam, Barcelona and Berlin. Paris is ok, but not as hot as London, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Berlin... ;)

yes ur drivers lisence is fine...or just make friends with the bouncers! i saw once they let a 14 year old in because his auntie was friends with the bouncer!

california license will be fine if it has a picture. They're only covering their backs, and don't care really.  It's not nearly so strict over here as it is in the States.

Most UK kids have false IDs for getting into clubs from the age of 15!

You're right.. don't carry your passport around.. too much hassle if you lose it.

If its the same as anywhere else in the country then photographic I.d such as a driving licence or your passport would be the best thing to take. as long as your licence has a mugshot of you on it, you should be fine.
