so aparently the fight against which one is better - blue ray or regular dvd - blue ray won. i need another dvd player so blue ray would be the wayto go right? becuase blue ray plays dvds and blue ray disks. theres just one problem. i have DVDs from other countries (japan and britian) so i need a "region free" or "all region" dvd player to be able to play the dvds from other places. (i live in the U.S.) would blue ray dvd players automaticly play disks from other countries or would i have to buy an adapter or special region free blue ray dvd player? if i have to buy something where could i get these things? (online or in a store) thanks for your HELP!

  1. Unfrotunately, NO. Blu-Ray Players are Region coded and will not be able to handle other regions. It's a shame really, but I'm sure some time in the future it may change.

  2. From my online research, there's no such blu-ray player which can play both blu-ray disc and dvd discs from all regions. But if you got the dvd discs label "regions free" means it's not coded for any regions then you can use any blu-ray player, PS3 available in US market. From the website listed as my source, they recommend these european blu-ray models:

    Samsung BDP1000

    Panasonic DMP-BD10

    Panasonic DMP-BD10A
