What are those engagement rings called that have one big diamond in the middle and then diamonds around the main stone? I know they have a specific name, I saw it on Tyra Banks, but I can't remember it... Thanks for your help! First to answer right gets the best =)

  1. CLUSTER!  I found it on this site:

I don't know if it has a specific name, but it's sometimes it is also called called a pave - pave being the tiny diamonds mounded around it.  Or bead setting. It's very vintage inspired though.  Like Victorian, Art-Deco or Edwardian.

  6. They are called "3 stone rings "or sometimes, "past, present, future rings" - they can also be called anniversary rings.

I have a similar engagement ring, but in addition to the three stones, it also has three smaller stones on either side in the band - we got it from Kay Jewelers - here it is:

  7. They are called pave and micro-pave ring settings.

    Something like this:

  10. hmmm ... from your description, it sounds like you're thinking of 'halo' diamond rings.

They have a diamond in the middle, and is surrounded by smaller diamonds. The extra diamonds in a 'halo,' surrounding the center stone add tons of sparkle, but they can give the illusion of a larger center stone.

    Hope this helps!

  13. I think you're referring to solitaire with side settings.

If there are 3 stones (a big one and two littler ones) it's called a 3-stone ring. Some call these "past, present, future" rings as well.

    Good luck :)

  14. Solitaire?
