Type of oil for a kawasaki?

im wanting to do a oil change on my bike and im trying to figure out what everyone thinks would be the best oil.the bike is a 1990 ninja 750r.

  1. Do Not use 30w oil as the energy conserving additives in it will mess up your clutch. A good 10w-40 or if you live in a very hot climate maybe 20w-50. Lots of people like Mobil 1 synthetic. Another popular oil is Shell Rotella 15w-40 which you can buy cheap at Wal-Mart. Right now I have Valvoline 10w-40 motorcycle oil in my bike.

    Just don't use any oil that says ENERGY CONSERVING on the back of the bottle.


  2. Just check the manual. It will say it under fluids, engine, or transmission. If you don't have a manual, I recommend getting one. Go to a local dealer, and ask them if they can order one for you, they will also tell you what oil.
