Dexamethasone is a medication used to manage swelling. It is a steroid. Catgut is a suture material, it is the kind that dissolves over time. It is not made from actual cat guts any longer, but the name has stuck.

Vicryl, Ethibond and Prolene ARE suture material. Dexamethasone is a medication and Catgut is a way of suturing to a specific wound. Therfore Catgut is not suture material.
