  1. yeah freed studios(and studio pros, and studio IIs) are made for stronger feet but classics are a lot nicer they  just don't last as long.if u can afford it i would go with classics just don't expect them to last that long.

  2. I would ask the fitter when you are getting them fitted.  Do you have to wear Freed shoes? Personally I do not like them, some ballet schools in my area do not allow them, as they tend to be shallow and do not give.  I much prefer bloch, or the brand of my first pointes, gamba, although I have been told these are no longer available.

  3. The problem with asking this is that EVERY shoe varies. There are a ton of makers for Freed, and each maker makes the shoe differently. So a model may vary a lot from maker to maker.

Freed Classic, tapered, long vamp or short vamp. Profile varies by maker between high and medium profile, most makers make in a medium profile. This shoe comes in normal and wide widths (N, X, XX, and x*x).

Freed Wingblock is the same box shape as the Classic, but it has stronger, higher wings and a stronger shank. Comes in the same widths and same vamp options.

Studios I: Same last (shape) as Classic, box is extra strength and features a suede lining and there is an optional extra strength shank and the same vamp options.

Studios II: Features a square (er) box than the Classic and Studio I, a lower profile than the Classic and Studio I. Comes with the same vamp and width options as the others, and an optional extra strength shank.

Studio Pro: Same last as Classic, features a 3/4 shank, a V vamp and elastic drawstring. Does not have long or short vamp options and no insole option.

If you want to order the shoes or have more questions, this is the website:

    Hope this helps!

  4. I don't know. I only ever buy Bloch. Have you been to freeds and tried them on? Because this is the only way you should ever buy pointe shoes. 35, st martins street. Near covent garden.
