Hey.

I was wondering about different types of pilots in the Military (all branches can't decide which to choose)?

And how much money they earn?

Pros and Cons?

Thank you so much.

  1. well, the only branch that can put you on a guaranteed course to become a pilot is the Marine Corps. But, there fleet is limited. In all branches becoming a pilot is VERY difficult. Your wages will depend on your rank as an officer, and im pretty sure this applies to all branches as well, you MUST be an officer to be a pilot. Some pros are the better money, the experience, the pride(Marine Corps pilots are few in number), and some cons are the long and extensive training. If you go to college you should take a minor at least in avionics or something. Training in the Marine Corps is very difficult, so be prepared, you will pay for it if you aren't. In the Corps it is called NROTC. I believe that is what the Navy calls it as well. If you do that you will have to still go to OCS. They wont just give it to you. Sorry I cant offer any more information on other branches, but I dont want to give you innacurate information. Also, if your vision is not perfect, it must be correctable to 20/20 and you cannot be color blind or have bad depth perception. And waiting lists for laser eye surgery are long! Any more questions on the Marines, you can e-mail me at Heti67@yahoo.com. I have a lot of Marine Corps recruiters who are good friends of mine, so if I dont know something, they will. Also, there are some qualifications for the NROTC program, 1100  two part SAT score, for example. Well, Good Luck!
