I have a 15 litre tank. I think i will get some guppies or neon tetras. I don't know many types of interesting small fish. Any suggestions to which fish would be good?

  1. you should get a little bottom feeder or some ghost shrimp. they are so neat. another cool fish is different colored tetras like blueberry strawberry and German. they are beauty's. good luck!oh and by the way a clown fish is a saltwater fish with plenty of needs. they are hard to care for and get sick easily. you would have to buy a sea anenomi(dont know how to spell it) and coral which is hard to grow too.

  2. try both

  3. I'm afraid to say you are not going to hear the answer that you want to with this question. Nemo as the above poster said is not suitable as firstly they need saltwater and secondly, they need at least a 60l tank for 1-2 of them.

I would recommend a male betta for that tank only (the crown tail variety are the best) and maybe some small shrimps to add some extra life.

If that is not for you, then i think that you may be able to get away with some endler livebearers (about 6) and again, maybe 2 or 3 shrimps.

Its really hard to stock a tank of that size as its only 3-4 gallons which is tiny. Its would be easier which fish you could have if we had the tank dimensions and the filtration. Longer tanks would be more suitable for endlers as they are far more active than Betta's. Something else that wou may be able to get away with is Boraras Maculatus, these are tiny rasboras (hard to get into stores though, my advice is to find a good fish shop and ask for a small shoal to be ordered in for you)

i hope that helps, but you are extremely limited to what you can have in there. Any more questions ask away on the board and we will try to help you as much as possible

  4. Guppies are good if you want something that breeds like rabbits.   Betas are very colorful but you can only get one for your tank.  Angelfish are neat and I've had them get as big as saucer plates.  Elephant noses are cool, kind of expensive, and they need a tube to hide in.  Sharks are jerks to the rest of your fish.  Someone suggested "nemo" fish, but they are salt water and you can't put them in a tropical tank.  Oscars, especially tiger oscars are very cool, but they eat everything else in your tank.  I had three of them get to be a foot long! Silver dollars are neat, but if I remember right they can be a little aggressive.  Hope this helped you a little bit.  Good luck.

  5. you could try black neon tetra's as well they're really cute in a school, or swordtails they are cute as well especially if you can get the black ones i searched for ages and then my local fish farm ordered them in for me, they are soooo cute

  6. How about a single female betta with a school of tetras or danios.

  7. Rasboras stay small and like to school together.

  8. dont get a clownfish as they are marine fish not tropical.

this is a good site with plenty of free advive as not all tropical fish can live happily together.

can i just add nearly all the species of clownfish are captive bred and never seen a anenome. (but they are still very difficult to keep and a 15litre tank would'nt even be sufficient to keep one in.)

  9. Clownfish. (Nemo)

  10. thats only 4 gallons

i suggestt you get a betta or 3 guppies

its too small for any schooling fish
