Typhoid Mary!!!! Could it happen again?!!

Do you believe a case like Typhoid Mary could happen in a modern day situation? Please give 2 or so details.

If anyone doesn't who Typhoid Mary was, she was a woman named Mary Mallon who in 1907 who was unfairly treated because she was unknowingly spreading typhoid fever. She was carrying the disease in her body. She was often called a freak and a monster.

Sure it could.  All it takes is a disease with a long enough incubation, significant severity, and an easy mechanism of dispersal.

In some ways, it happens already, for example, with Legionnaire's Disease.  Since I don't want to do all your work for you, lol, it's an easy enough thing to research how it was first discovered.  It wasn't transmitted through an actual person, but a thing, so you could say that the thing acted as a real Typhoid Mary.

Sure it could, especially since the abuse and misuse of antibiotics has caused bacteria and viruses tio mutate in a way that they have become "super-germs."

One of the major problems with pathogens is that you can't see them. Poor sanitation and hygene can cause epidemnics, so can crowding, floods, and poor health.

Some pathogens are spread by contact with an infected person or other vector (like a mosquito) and some are spread by the bodily fluids of an infected person. All it takes for some germs to spread is a sneeze or cough.
