  1. in the uk-you would be expected to support children in and out of the classroom -your usually assigned to one or more children-in school you just stay with them throughout their lessons-it depends on what the childs needs are-it may be behaviour-learning needs-a disability- youd sit with them during lessons and support /help them-if they are paying you at a level 3 you will be expected to do quite a lot of planning-laising with teachers etc-you will also be involved in meetings with outside agencies and the childs carers/parents-you will also be expected to write up daily/or even lesson by lesson reports on that child(these last things ive mentioned would be expected whatever level you were employed as)the big difference in level 3 is the amount of planning needed-at level 3 many schools would let u take whole classes in the absence of the teacher-this is especially true at primary level-as well as the child your attached to-youll be expected to take groups of children at a time and support them-this includes leading them-lots of info i know if i can help anymore please email me-

  2. depending on what she would be employed for because teaching assistants can be hired for a specific role as a one to one with a pupil,or to a particular classroom to help or as a general support to any class throughout the school..helping both pupils, teachers, parents and staff. It's a varied job so read the job desciption to see what it is they need you to fulfil in particular as every job is different.

Generally setting up and clearing away, ensuring safety ,helping to teach, noticeboards, registration, clerical duties to a degree, etc but mostly supporting the teacher with whatever is required to keep things running smoothly
