  1. the single guy that catches it. He should get it back from the girl that catches the bouquet after he puts it on her leg.

  2. i kept my wifes

  3. Whoever catches it.  Usually a single man ~ the next lucky guy to get married supposedly.

  4. Whoever catches the garter keeps it. This is why a lot of brides are opting to have two garters, just as they are opting to have two bouquets: one to throw at the reception, and one as a keepsake.

  5. The groomsman who catches it, traditionally he puts it on as an armband. Some put it on as a headband[a sign that you had a open bar at the reception], some use it as a slingsot the rest of the night. Trust me, you do not want it back.

Solution: wear 2, one for the groomsman to play with, one for you to keep.

  6. I just wanted to add onto what arb722 said.

When you go look for garters you will not buy just one garter. Real, quality, garters come as a set. there will a very ornate one (if your  a minimalist's this garter might just be larger with more fabric) and there will be a second one that is less detailed by kinda looks like the other one. The larger ornate garter is yours as a keepsake of your wedding. The less detailed garter is for your hubby to through at the reception. The single man who catches that one keeps it.

  7. Whomever catches it, keeps it.

  8. the man who catches it. u could throw a duplicate though if ur new hubby wants 1. like the throwaway bouquet.

  9. GEORGE DUBYA BUSH.

  10. you keep the one that was on her leg and the throw a cheap one (at least this is what i did so we could keep my garter) and the guy that catches it keeps it =)

  11. The person who catches it. Said person would be chosen from the pool of single men who choose to compete.  The garter works like the bouquet works for women; it's supposed to denote what guy is getting married next.  Obviously, when you tell your female guests who don't already know this why they're catching the bouquet, many will beat a path to the designated catching site.  Most of your guys will suddenly have to go to the bathroom urgently when you tell them why they're catching the garter.

If you're worried about being able to keep your own garter, I recommend that to you buy two and wear them both, designating one for throwing and one for keeping.

  12. Just get a throw away one if you want to keep one.  Personally though I didn't care about keeping mine so I just had one and the guy that caught it ended up with it.

  13. The person who catches it. If you don't want to give away the one you're wearing, get a substitute to throw. Nobody'll know. Gratz on your marriage.

  14. It depends. The guy who catches it can keep it, or u can have him put it on the girl who caught the bouquet, and she gets to keep it.

  15. the person who catches it keeps it and most of the time you can get them in sets of two so you can keep one too.

  16. The person who catches it, keeps it.

But most brides have one to keep and one to throw.
