Tyrur Big Mike has big plans for the College Causeway Killahan Phanter Easter Cup Round 1 Heat 2 at Shelbourne Park
The College Causeway Killahan Phanter Easter Cup Round 1 Heat 2 is to get staged at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards on Saturday, 24th March. Contesting tonight are Fluff The Lines, Slick Seattle, Express Dawn, Coolard Chief, Tyrur Big Mike and
Barefoot Hero.
Among the lineup, the contender who has shown the most improvement lately is Tyrur Big Mike, Brett Lee’s four-year-old black son out of b***h Tyrur Temptress. He is a lightly raced hound with a victory under belt from the three outings that he made during
the 2012 season.
His last two races of the 2011 season were victories and instead of making Tyrur Big Mike race right away, he was tuned over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park, a distance that he mastered in 28.52 seconds on 4th February.
The Target Express Open 550 on 11th February at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards was Tyrur Big Mike’s seasonal debut which he finished third after clocking the track distance in 30.06 seconds.
The race was won by the 7/4 favourite, Piercestown Sand, who covered the track in 29.90 seconds while in lead of one and a half length. Completing the trip right next to the winner was Slippery Patch managing the distance in 30.02 seconds.
Even though Tyrur Big Mike was sent as a 5/4 favourite to the Sis Live Shelbourne Gold Cup 550 Round 1 Heat 5 on 18th February at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards, he could only finish fifth.
The title was taken away by Tibetan Skies who timed the track distance in 29.70 seconds and took command by three and a half lengths. Racing through the wire right after the winner was Rockview Head.
As if avenging for the race in which Tyrur Big Mike had ended so dreadfully, he claimed the very next race. He won the Sis Live Open 525 on 3rd March at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.
Yet again entered as a favourite, Tyrur Big Mike was done with racing in 28.95 seconds by a slight shoulder’s margin from the runner up, Tinas Nova, who took he same time as the winner to conclude the race.
Parking third behind the winner was Beaming Olive.
During the course of the three races that Tyrur Big Mike ran, he improved from failure to winning the event and has a high probability of accomplishing victory tonight.
