Tyrur Big Mike likely to thrive in Open 525 Semi-Final
Tyrur Big Mike is quite confident to make a big impact in the Larry Dunne Open 525 Semi-Final contest that will go down at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night, May 12.
When the Open Race begins at 22:15 (GMT), the Fahy-trained black dog will break from Trap 3 to show his guts against Piercestown Con, Flandys Ryan, Skywalker Puma, Bling Bling Buzz and Skip Soda. A prize cheque of €100 will be distributed among the hounds
who are going to run on the flat track of 525 yards.
Tyrur Big Mike has been enjoying great form since the outset of the calendar year. After winning a race on March 3, the four-year-old veteran hound accomplished a fabulous hat-trick from March 31 to April 14.
The dashing dog again registered an epic triumph on April 28. He fought well and finished as a runner-up in his last outing on May 5. He has not been a favourite for any of these races.
Considering the brilliant hound’s so many upsets, the bookmakers have finally granted him a favourite tag for tonight’s Semi-Final.  Thus, the talented son of Brett Lee out of Tyrur Temptress will capitalise well on this favour in order to finish first.
However, each one of Piercestown Con and Bling Bling Buzz can impede him during the race.
Piercestown Con bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs on March 31 and April 7 followed by two runner-up ranks. Shinkwin’s blue dog again gained a classic victory on April 28 and finished second in his last outing on May 5. He looks to be in good form at
the moment.
On the other hand, Bling Bling Buzz elegantly won a race each on April 7 and 28 with big margins. The O. McKenna-trained fawn dog too got a runner-up position in his last start on May 5. Overall, his career’s marked with consistency.
Skip Soda can also cause an upset in the race. Thus, the situation is fairly complicated for the hot favourite hound. Let us see how he manages to cope with this. Good luck to him and all his competitors.
