Tyson Chandler to play against Nigeria despite injured finger
Team USA is already short on quality big men and seeing Tyson Chandler icing his hand in the second half against Tunisia would have been scary.
However the injury to his finger is not something new but an aggravation of a previous injury he suffered during the regular season. Chandler is the only true centre remaining in the American contingent with all other options being
ruled out due to various injuries, the most prominent being Dwight Howard.
With the injury being deemed non-serious, Chandler is expected to play against Nigeria but might get a little less playing time than usual.
Phoenix Suns have signed P.J. Tucker – Update
After being impressed with the performances of the 27 year old during the Las Vegas Summer league, Phoenix Suns management have gone ahead to sign P.J. Tucker on a two year deal.
Tucker was a second round pick in 2006 by Toronto Raptors but after spending some time circulating between the D-League and the Cleveland Cavaliers, he decided to pursue a career overseas. He has spent the past five seasons playing
basketball internationally with the most prominent locations being Puerto Rico, Greece, Germany and Israel.
Maalik Wayns considers signing for Philadelphia 76ers a dream come true – Update
Maalik Wayns the young guard out of Villanova who went undrafted on June 28th.
But, after putting up impressive performances in the Orlando Summer league, he earned recognition from coaches around in the NBA and a contract offer from the Philadelphia 76ers.
The young guard who hails from the Philadelphia are considers signing for the home team a dream come true to represent his city.
"I love Philadelphia — that’s why I chose to go to Villanova and now I get a chance to play for the Sixers. Words can’t begin to describe what I’m feeling right now." – Wayns
He was able to put up some excellent performances during the Summer league playing for the Orlando Magic and did not let the fact of going undrafted get to his head.
"I never lost faith and I never doubted myself and neither did the people around me. I’ve been going against the odds all my life. I just wanted an chance to prove myself."
Wayns will get his first chance to fulfil his dream of playing in the NBA when the Sixers start their season off against Denver Nuggets on October 31st at home.
