Tyson Fury: I will not apologise for the beating I am going to give Dereck Chisora – Boxing news
The current English heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has said he is not going to apologise for the beating he is going to give Dereck Chisora in the ring.
The current British heavyweight championship belt holder, Dereck Chisora, who is set to face Tyson Fury in an anticipated British heavyweight title fight this Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Wembley Arena in London, pulled out of the pre-fight press conference
by Frank Warren. This happened because of the harsh comments Fury made in the middle of a ramped up war of words.
The 6 ft 9” Irish-English giant Fury said he is going to kill Chisora in the ring and Warren was not happy with the comments he made. Therefore, he wrote an angry letter to the British Boxing Board of Control mentioning Fury’s comments.
Though Fury, who has won all of his 14 fights including 10 by the way of a knockout, later on apologised for his behaviour, he stated he will not apologise for the beating he will give Chisora in the ring.
Fury told the media he did not actually mean it and Chisora and Warren should have known it. He mentioned the likes of the Greatest, Muhammad Ali and the Iron, Mike Tyson. He remarked they used to do a lot of things ahead of their fights because this is
the way it works.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Of course I apologise for saying that I would kill him, no fighter wants that to happen and you know that I have a strong faith in God but it was just in the heat of the moment. Ali said things to Joe Frazier he
regretted and Mike Tyson said countless things, it happens when you have a real fight on your hands and I won’t apologise for the beating I’m going to give him.”
“The British Boxing Board of Control have not suspended me. So let’s cut out the excuses – don’t be a muppet Del Boy. Come out, come out wherever you are!” added Fury.
