Tyson Fury backs Wladimir Klitschko while Matthew Macklin fancies David Haye – Boxing news
The current English heavyweight champion Luke Tyson Fury and the former British and European middleweight champion Matthew Macklin have made their predictions about Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye’s unification bout for the heavyweight titles, which will
take place on July 2, 2011 at the Hamburg Arena in Germany.
Matthew ‘The Knife’ Macklin, who has won 28 of his 30 fights including 19 by the way of a knockout, believes the World Boxing Association’s World Heavyweight Champion, David Haye, is going to beat the International Boxing Federation’s, International Boxing
Organisation’s, World Boxing Organisation’s and Ring Magazine Champion Wladimir Klitschko.
The 29-year-old Irish pugilist even thinks Haye will stop the fight within the first six rounds, as he reckons Haye is too quick for Klitschko to handle.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Haye will stop him inside six rounds. I think it will be cagey for the first couple of rounds but I expect Haye to be too quick and when he lands it will be all over.”
Meanwhile the 23-year-old unbeaten boxer, Tyson Fury, who has won all of his 14 fights including 10 by the way of a knockout, believes Klitschko will eventually win the bout.
He stated Klitschko has done it many times before with the fighters like Haye therefore it should not be a problem for him. He mentioned Eddie Chambers as well while commenting on Klitschko’s qualities.
“My personal opinion of the fight is that I think Klitschko has been there and done that. He's fought a lot of people like David Haye, around the 6'2, 6'3 mark who punch hard, fast people like Eddie Chambers, and I think that Klitschko will deal with him
quite easily,” Fury said in an interview.
“Either way I can’t see it being anything but a win for Klitschko,” said Fury.
After all the statements and predictions that have come up, it is fair to say that this is going to be a very promising bout. However let’s see who smiles at the end of the one of the biggest bouts in the British history.
