Tyson Fury believes he is way ahead of Price – Boxing News
Briton fighter Tyson Fury believes he is way ahead of his nemesis David Price, who has been gaining much popularity in the recent past. Fury, who took on Kevin Johnson last week, is disappointed with how analysts and fans have criticised his points victory
and have praised Price for his knockout victory over Matt Skelton.
Price locked horns with Skelton past Friday and knocked out the latter in just two rounds, maintaining his unbeaten streak as well as his knockout ratio. On the other hand, Fury defeated Johnson via points decision, something that was not very well received
by the audience. It was the first time Fury heard the crowd booing at him and he was disheartened.
According to Fury, there is no comparison between his fight against Johnson and Price’s fight against Skelton, as he fought a way tougher opponent than his British counterpart.
“There's no comparison,” said Fury in an interview with the Sun. “He'd never have beaten Kevin. I've moved up to WBC No. 1, Price is British champ.”
Fury and Tyson have always seen each other as nemesis, and now Fury is ready to show the world he is better than Price. According to Fury’s manager Mick Hennessy, Fury is ready to delay a title shot in order to fight David Price.
“Where is the comparison? My fight was an eliminator for the WBC, this isn't an eliminator for the Commonwealth or British title. I won them two years ago,” added Price.
Unfortunately, Fury feels he is being criticized for no reason. According to him, Price has never faced an opponent as tough as Johnson but he did. Fury wants recognition for his skills and abilities as a boxer and for that he is ready to put all on the
line against Price.
It should be noted here that even though both fighters are more or less equal, fans and analysts are of the view that Price is the stronger man. Fury has not gained as much attention as a fighter as Price. The latter is being eyed as the next big thing in
the world of heavyweight boxing.
