Tyson Fury excited to take on Nicolai Firtha and warns Klitschko brothers – Boxing news
The current British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, Tyson Fury, is very excited about his upcoming bout with the American Stone Man, Nicolai Firtha, as the Brit reckons this will be a perfect test for him to prepare for the Klitschko brothers.
The 23-year-old Manchester’s undefeated prospect, Fury, who holds a record of winning all of his 15 professional fights, with 8 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is set to take on Ohio’s Nicolai Firtha on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in a 12-round
heavyweight bout at King’s Hall in Belfast, Ireland.
Wladimir Klitschko, who is the current WBA Super, IBF, WBO Super, IBO and Ring Magazine Champion, recently called Fury after he beat Dereck Chisora via unanimous points’ decision but his offer was turned down by Fury, as he stated he is not in a hurry to
face the Ukrainian giant. However, Fury has revealed he is aiming to set up a mega clash with the Klitschkos.
“I’m so glad it’s happening and I’m happy it wasn’t just some big fat Bulgarian!” Fury joked. “It will be a stiff test and if I get through this then the sky is the limit – Klitchkos, I’m coming.”
“We tried to get Mike Perez because we thought he would be a test. We tried to get David Price and a few different fellas. They all pulled out or there was something wrong with them. Now this guy has come over, so it’s just around the corner and we are all
really excited,” he said.
In the end Fury commented on Firtha, who holds a record of winning 20 of his 29 professional fights (1 Draw), with 8 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. Fury remarked Firtha is a very skilled boxer and he is expecting an explosive fight.
“I know he is a big fella. He went the distance with Alexander Povetkin and he has fought some top heavyweights,” added Fury.
Let’s see if Tyson Fury protects his unbeaten record once again and sets up a mega showdown with the Klitschko brothers.
