Tytan AZS CZESTOCHOWA defeats Prefaxis MENEN by 3-1 – 2012 CEV Volleyball Cup
A semi final match of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men saw the Polish squad of Tytan AZS CZESTOCHOWA compete with the Belgian team of Prefaxis MENEN.
The competition between the two sides took place in the Polish city of Czestochowa. The venue of the competition supported a total of 3,000 spectators that had come to watch the show.
Both the sides played good volleyball but the team that ended up on the winning end was the home team. By the time that the Polish were done, the scoreboard showed the following final scores as 25-18, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-23.
The opening frame of the game saw both the teams put up a good show but before long the home team was able to pull up ahead and get themselves a lead in the game by the coming of the first technical time out.
Once they had the lead with themselves, the home squad did not let go of the advantage and with the guests trailing behind, the Polish went on to secure the opening frame of the game at 25-18.
The loss of the first set of the game did not sit well with the guests who rallied themselves together and stepped up their game. The increased effort of the Belgian squad put pressure on the home side as the guests took the lead at the coming of the second
technical time out at 21-16.
Once the guests had the lead, they did not let go of the advantage and got hold of the second frame to make the match reach a tie at 25-20.
The home team responded in the third set by dominating the entire frame. The Polish were able to leave the Belgians trailing far behind from the start of set three and the guests could not propel themselves forwards to close in the gap as the Polish won
the frame at 25-15.
The fourth frame of the game was the most competitive as both the teams tried their best to secure a win. However, the home side remained successful in bagging the set at 25-23.
