A naval blockade is on their way to surround Iran. It's all about oil. How can the common person do anything about this craziness ? And what are the implications going to be for the U.S. and the rest of the world ?

Keep in mind, this will be concidered an act of war by International law !

  1. A bunch of rusty old navy ships in the Gulf. I am sure Ahmadinajad is shaking in his shoes! They dare not do anything and he knows it. In the old days it used to scare countries. These days, after the mess in Iraq, it just makes them laugh.

  2. This was a war games practice, not a real blockade.  It said so in the first paragraph of your link that you provided.

Edited:  I watch the news every day, and I haven't seen one reference to this blockade.  If there was any truth to this, the media would be all over it.  Fearmongerers like you should be locked up in the funny farm and the key thrown to the bottom of the ocean.

  3. Your point?  Iran has committed many acts of war since the United States went into Iraq.  They've failed to cover their borders to stop insurgents, they've made many threats to the safety of Israel, and they've smacked away everything the United Nations has sent their way as far as disarming goes.  They are making the world a more dangerous place, and you're worried about the repercussions for the United States and it's allies?

If the US was smart, they would have went into Iran first and went after Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  He is an international sponsor of terrorism and he is single handily brain washing the people of Iran with his rhetoric.

  4. Iran is a unstable country,  some countries just cannot be trusted with wmd's.  They believe its their religious destany to destroy certain people.  They also have oil the world desparately needs.

Dont underestiimate the US when it comes to military conflicts,  they have ways to knock out countries like Iran,  and with the help of others it would be alot easier than you would think.

  5. It might, just might be an early stage of the beginning. This conflict could bring uncertain serious outcomes to all of us.

Unfortunately the US government (and others) has become exceedingly efficient at controlling the mainstream media.

Most of the people with strong opinions against Iran don’t know what has been happening between Iran, UK and US in the last 100 years.

You see, the majority form their opinions based only upon conclusions that others have put placed in front them (main broadcasting networks), the minority make their own conclusions based on logic and evaluation, which of course requires more time and effort.

Our current government, the Bush administration, has stated that Iran is evil and has an active nuclear program; this gives anybody the right to interfere in Iran. Didn’t Bush do they same with Iraq?

Though Iran, unlike Iraq, seems to be prepared for an attack.

Can we all honestly say that we are, somehow, aware of the seriousness of the situation? Or do we need to wait until both sides unleash their power and then become aware of it?

FYI: I am not Middle Eastern or Middle Eastern descendant, my family is Italian and I am American.

  6. they are playing with fire.

  7. It won't happen. It would put up the price of oil even higher.

  8. They might bite off more than they can chew, if you google sunburn missiles.

They have a range of 180 miles; they travel at twice the speed of sound and can be fitted with a 250 - 750 kiloton nuclear war head.

Conventionally, just one missile can sink a large aircraft carrier.

    I hope common sense prevails.

    Additionally:

One sunburn costs about a tenth of a modern NATO jet plane.  And yet has such underestimated destructive power.
