This contest is only to choose a candidate to run for President. It is not the main contest so why is the British press filling up the newspapers with lead stories on this contest? The T.V. news is no better. They lead every newscast with reports of this contest no matter what channel you may be watching.

We are not the 51st state of the U.S.so get them off and let's listen to the news when the Presidential election begins.

Will the British media give as much coverage to any other countries' elections such as Canada, Lithuania.........? NO!

I am not anti- american. Just fed - up of hearing about the above when it is just a campaign to get a candidate for President.

Just think of the amount of money these people have wasted in flying /travelling around.

  1. It's all we hear about in Canada as well, I don't really care

  2. Totally agree with you. It's just not important who gets the nomination and, if I'm honest, I'm not too fussed who the president is either. Who ever they are, Britain still gets shafted

  3. You get a star from me cos I am completely pi$$ed off with the whole thing, especially on YA.

This is YA UK & IRELAND, not USA.   Give us a break.

  4. Like it or not whatever they decide will effect the rest of the world.

  5. I couldn't agree more. The UK is supposed to be a European country but I cannot think of any recent news stories that i have heard from France,Germany, Spain or any of the other European countries. The US\primaries have been relatively interesting this year compared to previous contests but the coverage has gone well beyond excessive.

I think I have heard more about Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton than I have about David Cameron and Nick Clegg never mind other European politicians.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more...and I'm American!!

  7. Whilst fully appreciating the depth of your feelings on the priority of news coverage - I'd venture to suggest  events in the USA are of immense importance to the global village, the world at large. And the 1st black or female Presidency candidate  - to compete with the successor of Bush Jnr. is of great concern to us - given the close financial and military ties with our US cousins. The backwash of ill-lending policies in the USA are now giving us a rocky ride in the UK - and threatens to get worse. The outcome of the November 08 Presidential election would have a great effect on future UK policy - as regards our troops' continued engagagement in Iraq/Afghan - and our economy.  I agree the BBC seem to have huge numbers of reporters buzzing about in the States - at our licence fee costs - but ,on balance, I'd prefer Auntie Beeb to maintain her world-wide reputation for unbiased reportage, than to see it curtailed, restricted on grounds of cost.

  8. Sorry to see you suffering. I am suffering over the prospect of seeing the clints in the whitehouse again, one way or another!

Don't minimize the ambition of this woman.

  9. Vote Green. Would like to seThe Green Party win everywhere. The Media acts like there is only the three to choose from not so. An unexpected upset would be nice.

  10. I agree with you i tend to channel hop in the mornings when this stuff is on the news....i couldn't care less who is running for the next candidate position it all looks like typical glitz and glamour American style and i can't take it as serious stuff....the sooner it's over the better there must be other more important and interesting news stories to cover

  11. Hear Hear !! I am sick to death of hearing about them both.Hillary looks like a demented gerbil, the other one I wouldn't trust out of my sight. Money certainly talks here !

  12. I feel the same, but "we" have always kissed USA's a*s*.

The UK has so many problems, why are we covering this on TV or the press..?

    IT MAKES ME SICK..

Sorry to anyone in USA but do you care about us..?

  13. Couldnt agree with you more!

  14. Agreed 100%

Its the BBC Trying to keep its 1000's of employees in work at our expense.

  15. HERE HERE!!!!!!

  16. Well you see, really we are the 51st state of America, they can do whatever they like with us, me personally, like you i'm sure, am absolutely sick of it. We should NOT have a country that we started being the main news of the month, I completely agree with you. 6 British soldiers die every week in Iraq and Afghanistan and they're not getting ANY news coverage. The news reporters sit there smuggly with their american republican face-off and a small roll of writing at the bottom scrolls along the T.V. cpl...etc, has been killed by a roadside bomb today. I say make the news that! Make the news about our men and women fighting for a war that America forced us into in the first place! I completely agree with you mate, I'm really glad someone feels that way! Hats off to you.

  17. When Princes Diana Died that dominated US TV, radio, news papers, and every magazine headline for a good while (All do respect). Yes we also are over feed with the Democratic race but History is in the making and it sales big, like as if the first atomic bomb was drooped.

  18. I'm sure that somebody somewhere actually thinks that the people of England are interested in what happens in THAT country.  I'm certainly not.  As far as I'm concerned the USA is the biggest problem that this planet has at the moment.

  19. i actually don't mind it, but why does it take so long, months and months and months, oh heavens..................
