  1. I'm not a big F1 fan, but it would be kinda cool. As for where, the Glen, Leguna Seca, h**l Champ Car's not running in Long Beach anymore why not there?

  2. I hope it doesnt return to Indianapolis, its so boring, Watkins Glenn would be awesome, and if the indy cars can do Laguna Seca, then why not the F1 cars?

    Laguna Secas pretty cool.

  3. The US has a problem with staging F1: none of the tracks which are any good have the location and/or facilities to stage a GP. Only the utterly useless Indy is really an option at the moment, and it really isn't the kind of venue that will turn US motorsports fans on to F1; it just doesn't do F1 cars justice.

With the necessary investment, then any one of Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta or Laguna Seca would be a great place to showcase the GP. Long Beach wouldn't be ideal, but it would be better than going back to Indy. All of them are near enough to civilisation to be feasible - IF the money can be found for facilities and infrastructure.

It's a shame that Elkhart Lake is so far from anywhere, F1 cars around there would be awesome.

  4. They should go back in time, and let F1 run the INDY 500. That would be interesting.

  5. Hopefully it will be back, and at Indy

Watkins glen would be a great choice

Dont see it at Laguna any time soon, its too short and narrow. But it makes a great Moto GP race (been there)

BDA: My uncle runs the historics, and he won last year

    Phill Reilly, look him up

  6. Yes, Formula 1 will someday return to the US.

Where? That is a good question. Watkins Glen was a wonderful setting for F1 in the day, now I do not believe it meets FIA standards to host a F1 event. Currently only Indianapolis meets FIA standards, that I know of. Mostly it is pit area/garages that US tracks fall short, not safety.

Lefty - If Laguna Seca put the money forward to improve their pit lane (the internal garages that F1 requires) I would be all for it. Great track and the historic F1's that run there look great coming down the corkscrew.

Wedge - The IRL will now be running at Long Beach. That was part of the merger between Champ Car and the IRL. But again you have the pit area problem. F1 almost pulled out of Monaco because of that. Monaco built a permanent pit lane and garages.
