U.S. Men’s National Team to open 2012 with exhibition matches – Volleyball news
Following the individual training and practice for the regular season, the U.S. Men’s National Indoor Volleyball Team is heading to the exhibition matches with Team Argentina in next month of April.
The teams from USA and Argentina will come into competition on April 27 and 29, whereas the JSerra Pavilion at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, California will set up the field of play for exhibition matches.
The U.S. team recently completed a training session in Anaheim, California and enjoyed a great form. The current roster of team features Antwain Aguillard, Jordan Dufault, Gabe Gardner, Rich Lambourne, Luke Murray, Casey Patterson, Matt Rawson, Riley Salmon,
Clay Stanley, Brian Thornton, Cory Yoder, and Austin Zahn.
Currently, the American squad better position on the international ranking chart. U.S. is No. 6 in the world, while Argentina is ranked eighth.
The U.S. team will enter the competition under the command of Head Coach Alan Knipe, who had led the team to great many achievement in past.
Speaking of the exhibition matches, the US coach mentor said, “These matches will be very important in preparing us for the NORCECA Men’s Continental Olympic Qualifier. Argentina always provides us with very tough competition and I encourage our fans to
come cheer for our team.”
The U.S. team is scheduled to host the NORCECA Men’s Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament in coming May. The crucial Olympic qualifying competition will take place at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach California. The successful team of tournament
will earn a spot in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Both the U.S. and Argentinean teams will be competing for the Olympic ticket. Hence, the exhibition matches before the Olympic qualifying tournament will help the teams to get ready for the bigger and more important competition.
The USA Volleyball encourages spectators to come for the support of team. The fans will get to see the coaches and players and get their autographs. The entry fee for exhibition matches is $12 for general admission, while the senior citizens will be charged
$10. Young kids of 10 years of age or lesser and members of military will be allowed to watch the matches for $20.
