U.S. Men’s duos look forward to a great performance at 2011 Brasilia Open
In the wake of 2011 SWATCH FIVB World Tour Opener, the U.S. Men’s Beach Volleyball duos are getting ready for the upcoming heated competitions in Brazil.
The Brasilia Open in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil will mark the opening of regular beach volleyball season. The event is scheduled to run from April 17 to 23, the beach volleyball teams from around the globe are heading to Brazil. A total of five men’s beach volleyball
duos will represent USA at the 2011 Brasilia Open.
The names of the participating U.S duos are as followed:
Phil Dalhausser/Todd Rogers Matt Fuerbringer/Nick Lucena Jake Gibb/Sean Rosenthal Casey Jennings/Kevin Wong Casey Patterson/Brad Keenan
The tandem of top-seeded Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers will enter the competition as pre-favourite. They have had a very successful run in the last season and clinched huge success. The American seized maximum number of SWATCH FIVB Titles in the 2010.
They settled for nine gold medal victories last year. They credits include success at Grand Slam gold medals in Italy (Rome), Switzerland (Gstaad), Austria (Klagenfurt) and Poland (Stare Jablonki). Likewise, they finished second and third at major events in
Norway and Russia.
The dynamic duo is determined to maintain their dominance in 2011 as well and have great plans to launch their authority on the opponents.
Besides Dalhausser/Rogers, the second-seeded pairing of Matt Fuerbringer and Nick Lucena will also be on board to showcase their spike and block capabilities. They had formed partnership in 2010 and settled for one second place and one third place finish
in the nine tournaments. It was pretty good on their part and it also gives them a great confidence to make further progress this year.
Likewise, the third-seeded duo of Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal will also represent America at the 2011 Brasilia Open. Gibb and Rosenthal demonstrated an average game in 2010 season but they have high hopes to catch the limelight in upcoming event.
Casey Jennings and Kevin Wong, who created major sensation by capturing gold at the final event of 2010 SWATCH Tour, will actively participate in the campaign.
Finally, the duo of Casey Patterson and Brad Keenan will be introduced as a new pair at the 2011 Brasilia Open.
