  1. Most cities have public transportation.  So the question is this:

    what cities are between the pop 3 to 6 million?

    NYC is out of that boundary - it has about 8 million people.

    Here's a list of cities and population:

    It seems like from the list, Los Angeles is the only city between 3 to 6 million people.

    Good Luck...

  2. If you are talking about the city proper, only NYC and LA are in that range.

    If you are talking about the entire metropolitan area, there are several.

    I would say that Washington DC and Chicago have good public transit systems, LA and San Francisco are decent, and most of the others are mediocre at best, including Atlanta.

    I suggest you read the wikipedia articles for the respective public transit systems (BART, Metrolink, etc.)

  3. Well, all cities of that size in America has public transportation....Now if you were trying to ask which cities have rapid transit (rail transit) then the cities that DONT have rapid transit are;

    Detroit

    Tampa Bay area

    Orlando (though not quite 3 million)
