The Mexican-American war was a conflict over territorial control over Texas the US and Mexico both wanted to control Texas so it ended up as war. The Alamo was one of the most famous battles in the war, in fact it was the first war the Latter Day Saints got involved in the US really needed more men to fight so they turned to the saints and created the Mormon Battalion and I think the war ended at the Halls of Montezuma.
