U.S. Open 2010: The Professionals look sharp
As much as the professionals remain focused on their performance, in today’s times, it is mandatory for them to keep up their appearance in terms of their attire. Fortunately enough, their sponsors take care of their on-court looks.
World no. 1, Spain’s Rafael Nadal looked nothing short of a super-hero in his 2010 U.S. Open outfit. The sportsman wore a black t-shirt with a green swoosh along his chest. The t-shirt’s rare collar was lined with neon green.
Nadal’s black socks, head band and wrist band all had green swoosh’s printed on them as well. The athlete’s trainers were green in color with black swoosh’s along the sides to go with his outfit.
Russia’s Teymuraz Gabashvili lost 6-7, 6-7 and 3-6 to Rafa in a black, white and red lotto t-shirt. The sportsman’s white shorts and wristbands completed his look.
Italy’s Roberta Vinci was defeated 4-6 and 1-6 by America’s Venus Williams in the first round of the Women’s singles. Vinci wore a white sleeveless dress with a v-neck. The top’s neck was lined with green. It also had green lines that went down the sides. Her dress went well with her matching socks and trainers. The sportswoman also bore a white wrist band.
Venus on the other hand, rocked an all black outfit. The athlete came out with her own brand with Steve and Barry, namely, EleVen. Williams’ sleeveless black satin dress went with her black cap and wrist bands.
The sportswoman however, wore a white pair of Nike trainers apart from a pair of dangling earrings, bracelet and a silver necklace to complete her look.
Swiss Maestro Roger Federer, thrashed Argentina’s Brian Dabul in a classy Nike outfit. Federer’s navy blue t-shirt was lined with white along the collar. The professional sported a navy blue Nike headband and a wristband of the same color.
With the ‘RF’ logo printed along his chest, Federer wore a white pair of socks to go with his Nike trainers with navy blue swoosh’s on them.
Sponsored by Westin hotels, Dabul wore a loud orange t-shirt with hints of white to go with his black shorts. He also sported a black pair of wristbands. Nevertheless, the sportsman lost 1-6, 4-6 and 2-6 to Federer.
America’s Andy Roddick eliminated Hungary’s Greta Arn in the first round of the Men’s singles at the U.S. Open. The Lacoste endorsed sportsman defeated Arn in a plaid white and navy blue collared t-shirt that went with a dark blue pair of shorts.
A-Rod also bore a white Lacoste cap along with a blue rubber bracelet to match his clothes. The athlete wore a black pair of trainers along with a white pair of socks to complete his U.S. Open look.
On the contrary, Arn wore a white outfit sponsored by Asics. The athlete’s white, round collared t-shirt had hints of black along the collar and had grey lines along the sides.
The sportsman also wore a pure white cap to go with his white socks, wristband and trainers. Sadly however, Arn lost 3-6, 2-6 and 3-6 in straight sets to Roddick.
Defending champion Kim Clijsters defeated Hungary’s Greta Arn 6-0 and 7-5 in straight sets. The sportswoman wore an all-blue outfit sponsored by Fila.
Kim’s blue t-shirt went well with the cap she bore of the same color. Her wristband however, was of a lighter shade of blue. The Belgian wore a white pair of socks to go with her white Fila trainers.
On the losing end, sporting a rather simple look, Greta Arn wore a dress with spaghetti straps. Her white cap and socks and trainers of the same color made her 2010 U.S. Open look.
At the U.S. Open this year, whether the professionals breezed through to the next round or were knocked out in the initial few, they made sure it was done in style nonetheless.
