Question:

U.S. Processes?

Here's the question: Analyze the various steps in a political process (casting a vote), an economic proscess (purchasing a stock) or a social process (getting married). Assume that your aduience watches A LOT of TV. Exlpain how it differs in real life than how it does on TV.

I'm not asking for you to write a paragraph if you don't want (but my god if you do, you'll prob. get the points), I'm simply trying to gather Ideas as I am completely lost on this question. The assignment said that I will have to write 5 pages, so this is why I need ideas.

The thing is, there was no reading and the prof. just kind of randomly made this up.

All ideas welcome. I prompty choose 10 for best.

Serious answers only! Please don't tell me "I'm not writing it". I just want ideas, not a lecture. This is for a college level class

Thank you

  1. What type of class is this for?

Very simply stated political, economic, and social processes are much more complicated and time consuming in real life than they are on TV.  No one ever made a successful TV show about registering to vote and driving to the polling place, researching stocks and going to a stock broker, or planning a big wedding.  All of that is the boring mundane stuff of everyday life!

What you see on TV is the finished product: pulling the voting lever and your candidate wins, purchasing the stock and getting rich, or having the beautiful fairytale wedding.  TV gives an idealized version of real life.
