U.S. Residents: Do you think that you, personally, would be better or worse off if...?

the United States adopted a single payer insurance program that would be available to all LEGAL residents of the United States, with the following characteristics:

no deductibles

no (or very low co-payments)

no pre-existing conditions

Objectively explain your answer as to why feel that you, personally, would be better off or worse off.

  1. I believe I'd be better off, yes.  I think this would have the necessary modifying forces to bring the problems brought on by private insurance companies into check.  These problems have been an extremely serious situation for a huge number of people in America.  It has to stop, and of the two health care proposals from the candidates, I prefer Obama's.

Just look at the countries that have free medical care.. it's ok for general purpose care but still they come to the USA for surgery because we have the best doctors because they get paid for their knowledge.. If anything i wish they could just make it affordable some how without driving the Doctor's to other countries. But the facts are Money drives the U.S.

  3. i would be a lot better off with pay cash for what few times i need medical care, no regular medical insurance (which is costing about 10,000/yr)  and some kind of very high deductible version of "catastrophic health insurance"

    i have a pre-existing condition and would still have to pay taxes into a system that I cannot take advantage of.
