As the first set of the game started off evenly but as the frame progressed, the Americans were able to come out strong and dominate the Netherlands. It was only in the second set of the game that Netherlands was able to significantly challenge the US but
still failed to register a win after having lost the first set by a comfortable margin. The loss of the first two sets of the game did not work to improve the performance of Netherlands rather, the team put on a demotivated show that cost them the entire match

The assistant coach of the U.S. team, Cara Lang, expressed herself in the following words after her team had won the match: “We played strong and steady throughout most of the match. They pushed us in the second game again, which has been our trademark.
But we regained control to complete the match in three sets. We served and passed our best so far in this match.”

blocking of the Americans was also better as they put up 7 blocks as compared to six blocks of the Netherlands. The improved serving of the Americans enabled them to tally a total of 12 points on the scoreboard while the Netherlands could only make five points
on serve.
