The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and Bayern Munich coach has revealed that the AZ Alkmaar striker’s performances against Jamaica were not good enough to call the youngster for the upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The former Bayern Munich boss has revealed that the 22-year-old’s poor showings in Team USA’s last two qualifying games against Jamaica forced him to drop the youngster for the upcoming games.
The former New York Red Bulls star started in the Yanks’ 2-1 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamaica-c2927 at National Stadium on September 7.
However, following his below par showings away from home forced Klinsmann to bench the promising young striker in the very next game against Jamaica at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Columbus-Crew-c38850 Stadium on September 11.
“I communicated with Jozy that I was not happy about his latest performances with us, I mean maybe even over the last 14 months. I think Jozy can do much, much better, and the reason why he's not coming in is mainly about the performances in Jamaica and
at home and also in training”, Klinsmann was quoted as saying to the media.
The 48-year-old tactician, who took the reins of the Yanks in July 2011, went on to reveal that he will always consider bringing Altidore back in the squad.
“It's important that the players have their starting spot at club level, but it doesn't mean that coming to national team is for granted then. The decision not to call Jozy in is based on our experience with him. The door remains open with Jozy, but we need
to make sure we take care of these two games”, Klinsmann concluded.
Altidore, who joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 in the summer of 2011, has been in fine goalscoring form this term, netting an impressive eight goals while setting up two more in eight Eredivisie games.
However, the young striker’s good displays at domestic level were not enough to convince Team USA head coach to include him in the squad.
