  1. It is our duty to know about political issues and have informed opinions about them. It is these opinions influence our vote for politicians, and an uninformed vote is not an accurate one. We also need to help our fellow citizens. Do no harm and help when you can. If a government official is out of line, work to make the public informed of it. The government is here to protect and serve the people, but it is our responsibility in turn to know the limitations of the government and our rights as citizens.

  7. Here " WE"  the people have very little power to do any thing, very little time to worry about,

very little love for the nation as a whole,& in return we get very little service from "THEY" the rulers(administartors) .When the people sitting in the corridors of powers  are not able do any thing good for anybody then what can we do to the welfare of the people or the society at large, except chit chat and gossip arguing and debating. This is a country where intelligent people are ruled by fools. people who can talk ,can only talk and they who can do, will not talk but do amass as much they can, to get it burried under their coffin.  principles and ethics descend down from top to bottom like a water, when a PM of a country has stretched his hand out and when

  9. It is my country's duty to do my (as a voter and citizen's) bidding. Not the other way round. The state is subservient to the individual.

  10. As a citizen of our country i have to serve my nation  and it is our duty to be a responsible citizen.But......it is very easy in saying and difficult in practise. We have elected some persons to run the government but they are enjoying and you can say system is being rape again and again by these so called leaders. Some are paying and maximum are enjoying.

The constitution was firmed by some leaders on the time while being free(before freedom) and it is never revised. It is not possible to find a medicine for all time ,for all the age group ,and for all the decease. The same should be revised as per environment. A terrorist is enjoying after attack on parliament and feeling ha is safe because he can avail the help of these unwanted/so called/secular type leaders and am feeling unsafe because being an innocent.

  11. Its our duty as citizens to be informed on all the candidates and Vote for who we think is best suited for the office in question. Also to speak out about the injustices in our government.

  12. Actually its the Duty of our Country to serve and protect us.  Not the otherway around.

  15. Vote.....after this latest mess is flushed out Vote for people with the best interest of Our Country and People not special interest. WE THE PEOPLE have to take the power back...VOTE no excuses.

  16. Citizens cannot demand the protection of their country while passively contributing nothing to it - it's a give and take.  The country has the duty to protect the natural rights of its citizens, and the citizens have a duty to participate in the governance and action of the country.  These duties include following the laws (yes, including traffic laws), paying taxes, serving on a jury, voting, becoming educated about political topics and candidates, and engaging in mature debates about current issues.

The most important duty of a citizen is to participate in the political process, in all its forms.  This can include working for campaigns, writing letters to Congresspersons, joining watchdog organizations that keep an eye on the government, protesting unfair laws, and voting.  You'll notice I've mentioned voting twice, and with good reason - it's the simplest way for every citizen to participate in their government.  It requires nothing more than a little knowledge and a little time, and yet is sorely underused.  If a citizen does nothing else by way of participation, he or she should vote - our elected leaders control a great deal of our lives, whether we like it or not, and votes are the voices in which we make our country a truly representative one.
