U.k. share dividend payment to bank account........how long?

Question

i recently elected to have dividend payments sent to my back account rather then as cheque through the post.

how long does it take approximately from payment date to bank account?

It should be quicker that a cheque through the post and could possibly be there as early as the payment date.  The first such payment could take longer than future ones but the second and following payments should be consistent in work days (hopefully zero) after the payment date.
