I don't understand this comment...... Is there a set number of people that can love you? Set number of people you can love?

its a text from a family member, I think its silly but would like others opinions please?????

Sounds like that person feels that you don't care for them/you don't go for them for support and they're hurt by that.  Or I guess in another context it can mean that they don't want to be bothered with your problems and that you should go to someone else.  It's hard to tell without knowing what you guys were talking about...

It sounds to me like this family member wants you to have other friends so that they can be rid of you.  They don't want to have a relationship with you, so they want you to have other relationships so they won't feel guilty.  That's what it sounds like to me,

It basically means that this family member feels that you don't care about them and would rather love other people, or feel warmer towards others than them.

There isn't a set number of people that love you, no. But basically this is saying that you allready have a lot of people loving you. This person may think you have the attittude that because of this, you do not put whoever 'us' is as one of your main priorities.

It sounds as if this person is hurt. I don't think they are being 'silly'. Did you do anything to upset them? Do you care about them and give you a lot of your time?

Sounds like they feel neglected, and it's kind of an angry/sarcastic comment that you don't need them because you have so many other people that love you.  Sounds like they're feelings are hurt.  You should talk to them and try to spend more time with them.
