  1. Just depends where you live young man. First you need to be out running and if you struggle with that try one of two things, 1. Buy a treadmill or 2. Cycle.

I found when i was older that biking was brilliant for fitness and only trained with the team and then played. But being at your age you need to build up your systems but you only have 8 weeks. Swimming is also another good activity for fitness.

Hope that has helped or go to a website such as Sport performance.com There are heaps of sites or contact your coach.

    cheers & Good Luck

  2. ~ With you being in the forwards I definitely recommend a weights training programme to strengthen your upper body for ball retention in the contact area as well as both absorbing the tackle and tackling.  Also weights for your lower body for forward drive and strength at scrumtime.  A bit of skipping for elevation/jumping as your height makes you ideal to play lock also.

You can find all sorts of information online about training programmes but I recommend you go into your nearest gym and talk to someone in the know for a programme designed especially to suit your age, weight, ability &  your performance goal/s over the next 8 weeks. Excellent luck!  ~
