Amla, 29, who had led his side into the final during the 2002 edition before eventually losing to a Cameron White-led Australian team, feels that in addition of having the pride of representing one’s country, the competition has proven to be a springboard
for youngsters to go on and make their mark at the international level.
“The ICC U19 CWC is very important as it teaches you invaluable cricket and life lessons which go a long way as you try to build your career,” the right-handed batsman said.
“Enjoy every moment as you are incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to play the game that you love and try to make the most of it,” said Amla, who last week became the first Proteas batsman to score a triple century. The 29-year-old scored an unbeaten

The Proteas middle-order batsman cited the Wayne Parnell's example, who has made a name for himself on the international stage following impressive performances at youth level.
