UAE eager to take on Kenya in the 4-day match after winning 2nd ODI – Cricket News Update
The visiting team, UAE, won the 2nd One-Day game against Kenya, on July 26, 2011, which has given the team a psychological edge over the hosts for the upcoming 4-day fixture of the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
The 4-day match is scheduled to begin at 10:00 local time on July 28, 2011, at the Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi.
UAE is not as experienced a team as their hosts, but was confident ahead of the tournament because of their preparations.
The team had practiced a lot before this tour, under the experienced guidance of their newly appointed coach, Kabir Khan. The new coach has worked on both, bowling and batting departments, but relies on his bowlers to provide the team an edge in the tournament.

The Captain said, “Having played quite a lot of 20-over cricket in the past months we have now turned our focus on the longer format and have been working hard for this fixture.”
Kenya and UAE faced each other for the first time in the tournament on Monday, July 25, 2011. Although the hosts won the match by 66 runs (D/L method) but still UAE did not lose heart.
The guests struck back in the 2nd One-Dayer on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, and won the match by 4 wickets. They had been given the target of 231 runs to be chased in 50 overs, which UAE completed in 46.4 overs, at the loss of 6 wickets.
This was a huge victory, as UAE had defeated a much stronger side. This win boosted the confidence of the guest team and now it has its eyes on the 4-day match, beginning from today.
