UAE expects crowd to enjoy http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s home series against Sri Lanka and England – Cricket News Update
The secretary of the Dubai Cricket Council, Mohammad Lokhandwala, showed excitement over hosting a series on Pakistan’s behalf In http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
Lokhandwala also stated that, it is an opportunity for cricket lovers to enjoy the contest at UAE’s ground, and is looking forward for jam-packed stadium.
He was talking to the Gulf News, and said; "It will be a great time for the fans here and since we have world class stadiums in UAE it is important to have lots of cricket here.”
"We are lucky to have three top class stadiums in the UAE and it has enabled us to watch the best of cricket teams. Sharjah deserves to host international matches again because it is a very accessible stadium for the cricket fans," Lokhandwala added.
Meanwhile, he is looking forward to host the matches of the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625)’s world cricket league.
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selected UAE to host its home series by declaring it as economical option, after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 cricket (SLC) refused to visit Pakistan for a bilateral series, on the basis of security concerns.
Now, UAE will host 3-Test matches, 5-One Day Internationals (ODI) fixtures, and a Twenty20 Internationals game between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in October 2011.
In the meantime, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 also showed unwillingness to visit Pakistan for a complete series on the basis of security issues.
Pakistan will play its home series, which includes 3-test match series, 4-match ODI series, and 3-fixture Twenty 20 series at UAE, in the start of the next year.
Earlier, while convincing the PCB, the Chief executive of Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), Dilawar Mani, assured PCB that stadiums will be jam-packed, if Pakistan select UAE to play cricket, and highlighted the Pakistani crowd living in UAE.
Meanwhile, the governing body of cricket in Pakistan also showed its interest to use UAE’s ground to host its home series in the future as well.
Earlier, Pakistan was trying to convince foreign teams to visit Pakistan to resume cricket in the country, however, they failed to attract, and opted the option of neutral grounds.
