PCB has done its best to convince the Sri Lankan team to visit Pakistan and put life back into its cricketing fields. They were considering it initially but after the recent spate of terrorist attacks around the country, they refused to visit Pakistan.
PCB has contacted Emirates Cricket Board once again to make a feasibility report for holding the series in that part of the gulf. The ECB Chief Executive, Dilawar Mani, has confirmed the news and stated:
"I can confirm that the PCB has once again contacted us for the business plan to host their series we will reply in the next two weeks. The PCB wants to deal with us on a series-by-series basis and, at times, last minute. This is not normal and leads to
them making financial losses. You can't come up with a good sponsor on a very http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Short-c90107 notice. I urge them to come up with the correct strategy and plan the series well in advance so that it helps them".
All cricket playing nations refused to honour their commitments to play in Pakistan after an attack on the Sri Lankan squad in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 2009. Sri Lankan team was lucky when all of their team members including their officials survived, after their bus was attacked
on the way to Gaddafi Stadium, in Lahore.
Few of the players got injured in the attack and do not seem to be able to forget the horror they experienced.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745 Cricket team was bold enough to accept the challenge and they are participating in three One Day International matches against Pakistan ‘A’ team.
It was an effort to convince the Sri Lankan Cricket Board to send their team to Pakistan but they refused the offer.

Pakistan’s home cricket has once again diverted to UAE and the series against Sri Lanka and England will be played there. Cricket lovers at home will have to wait for international cricket a little longer.
