A First-Class match between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 and Afghanistan started at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium yesterday, October 5. Winning the toss and batting first, UAE scored 361 runs for the loss of 8 wickets from 96 overs at the end of Day 1.

The second wicket partnership between the one-down batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdul-Rehman-c41625 and Palekar, was somewhat solid as the duo added 52 runs to the innings; however, Rehman shared just 7 before falling in the 13th over. He faced 21 deliveries and hit a boundary,
and was succeeded by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Swapnil-Mantri-c92119 Patil.
Palekar played a tremendous innings, and set the spectators feel as if it was a 20-over match with his epic boundaries all around the wicket. The dashing opener lashed 76 runs off 60 balls with the help of 12 fours and 2 sixes before being caught and bowled
by Dawlat Zadran.
Palekar’s lavish innings gave enough confidence to the middle-order batsmen who played fearlessly and pumped their side’s score to a great extent.
Patil was the protagonist of the middle-order. Playing slowing but steadily, he made 61 runs off 141 balls with the assistance of 7 sterling boundaries.
The preceding three batsmen were impressive as they helped their team finish the day with a mammoth total. Khurram struck with a snail’s pace and got 52 runs off 114 balls including 5 fours. He went in the 52nd over of the innings.

Thus, the UAE finished Day 1 with 361 runs. Their run rate had been 3.76 per over.
