UConn Combined Program in Medicine?

I find great interest in this program which I just recently learned about. The program combined undergraduate studies and medical school. So, in other words, as long as you get decent grades and a minimum MCAT, you are guaranteed admission to medical school. I ask that anyone who knows anything about this program or similar programs, please share. Speak about the average applicant, selectivity, strengths/;weaknesses, etc. Thank you!!!

  1. The accelerated program which I believe your are talking about tends to be highly selective and competitive as they only select the brightest students from high school. The reason for this is the program is about 1 year shorter than going the traditional route with year 4 being a transitional year between undergraduate and medical school. Since you complete the program in approximately one year less you need to demonstrate a high level of intellect, maturity, responsibility, and academic accomplishments.
