In the Group G of the UEFA Champions League, Dutch giants Ajax hosted French powerhouse Auxerre. The match was expected to be an excellent blend of pace, stars and quality, with the Dutch side considered to be the favourites. Ajax
took the lead just at five minutes, thanks to wonderful strike by forward De Zeeuw. The player found himself in the six yard box and unleashed a thunderbolt of a strike.
The hosts held most of the control in the match, maintaining possession and going forward in numbers. Star striker Luis Suarez has been in the form of his life and seemed as threatening as ever. With Ajax leading the game, the
opponents never managed any possession, which led to the second goal of the game. Suarez found himself in one of one situation and chipped the ball above the goalkeeper to find the back of the net. That goal knocked the crowd into a frenzy and Ajax were then
firmly in control of the match. The French side has been outplayed by the Dutch side and the combination of Suarez and El Hamdaoui is just outstanding.
Auxerre would have to find the next goal in to get themselves back into the match or can risk the chance of further punishment by the hosts, who seem to be in momentum. Suarez needs to be watched for the second half as any space
for the 23-year-old would mean a threatening strike at goal.
